Safety Engineer

Job description

❖ Participate in all safety-related activities on system, hardware and software level

❖ Support internal and external compliance efforts required by relevant UNECE regulations and ISO standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO 21434)

❖ Support in meeting the requirements of new national and international regulation frameworks (AFGBV, EU 2022/1426)

❖ Create and align concepts and work products to evaluate and improve system safety, as well as tracking and validation

❖ Coordinate with distributed teams for managing safety and security scope during software development activities.

❖ Support in the definition of tests and the creation of safety plans

❖ Assess technology proposals from external suppliers w.r.t. meeting risk management design objectives.

❖ Develop and maintain expertise in automotive best practices for safety and security

Job requirements

● Completed studies in the field of computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or a comparable field of study.

● Previous work in automotive product development and experience with hardware/software architectures, integration and testing

● Intermediate programming skills

● Ability to produce formal documentation to a highly professional standard

● Attention to quality, reliability and safety

● Independent and systematic approach to solving novel problems

● Willingness to learn with a healthy drive to understand and solve complex system-level problems

● High level of communication and teamwork skills as the role requires interaction with cross functional teams.

Would be a plus:

● Experience with implementation of modules with AUTOSAR or MISRA-C guidelines

● Familiarity with automotive safety standards (e.g. ISO 26262)

● Experience with implementation of modules with AUTOSAR or MISRA guidelines

● Embedded C/C++ experience
